IMG_0777 This and the 20 following slides (all taken December 31, 2007) are of the Calibshie coast on the west side of the Napier's Beach Bay. I explored while Ruth enjoyed a swim back at the beach. IMG_0778 IMG_0779 IMG_0780 IMG_0781 These rocks may be volcanic and seem to be like layered, packed snowballs. IMG_0782 IMG_0783 IMG_0784 Waves can carve soluble rocks into strange, yet beautiful, shapes. IMG_0785 IMG_0786 IMG_0787 IMG_0788 Absent the water and vegetation, it would look like a Martian landscape. IMG_0789 I thought the mineral rocks were interesting in close-up. IMG_0790 IMG_0791 IMG_0792 IMG_0793 IMG_0794 Another mineral close-up. IMG_0795 It was of this rock. IMG_0796 Ruth greets my return. I presented her with a nice cowrie shell I found in a pool in the rocks. IMG_0797 This is the east end of Napier's Beach, also known as the Point Baptiste White Sand Beach. IMG_0800 We took a 3-hour walk on New Year's Day 2008, from our house on Calibishie Ridge down to the village on the bay, up the Savanne Paille ridge to where it joined Calibishie Ridge and back to our house. This slide and the 13 following are from that walk. IMG_0801 IMG_0802 IMG_0803 IMG_0804 IMG_0805 IMG_0806 IMG_0807 IMG_0809 High on Calibishie Ridge near where the ridge roads join, is the house and yard of our friends William and Jennifer.
